Besides the packaged items, you also need to prepare the following accessaries before using Blade 3:

  • Power supply: A power adapter that supports USB PD 2.0
  • Display:
    • An HDMI cable
    • (Optional) A display with an HDMI port and a DisplayPort port

    • A hub with a USB-C connector

Note

Blade 3 supports HDMI 2.1 (7684 x 4320 @60 fps) and DisplayPort 1.4 (8192 x 4320 @30 fps). You can select a display and a cable accordingly for best display experience.

Connect to a display

Blade 3 supports display connection either via HDMI or DisplayPort. It is recommended that you connect via HDMI.

Blade 3 has two HDMI ports (top one is HDMI OUT & bottom one is HDMI IN). The HDMI OUT port is preferred for display connection.

Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI OUT port on your Blade 3 and the other into an HDMI port on the display.

Via DisplayPort

Blade 3 has two USB-C ports. Both support DisplayPort, but only the one closer to the corner supports USB PD 2.0 which is designed for power delivery. You’d better use the other one if you choose this way of display connection.

Insert one end of the USB-C into the USB-C port on your Blade 3 that is closer to the corner and the other end into a DisplayPort port on the display.

Connect to network

Blade 3 has two RJ45 Ethernet ports.

Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into an RJ45 Ethernet port on Blade 3 and the other end into the router.

Connect a keyboard and a mouse

Blade 3 has two USB-C ports, the one near the corner is primarily used to connect power supply. The other one that is away from the corner is available for other uses, such as connecting a keyboard and mouse.

  1. Insert the USB-C connector of the hub to the USB-C port on your Blade 3 that is away from the corner.
  2. Connect a keyboard and a mouse to the hub.

Connect to power

Insert one end of the power adapter into the USB-C port near the corner and the other end into the power outlet.
