This document describes how to install Home Assistant to Mixtile Edge 2 Kit and access its dashboard.<\/p>\n<h2>Installing Home Assistant<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Note: If your Mixtile Edge 2 Kit already has Home Assistant pre-installed, skip this step.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Important: Before you start, make sure you have backed up all important data.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Download the following files:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>upgrade_tool (macOS: <a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.mixtile.com\/tools\/upgrade_tool_v2.13_for_mac.zip\">upgrade_tool_v2.13_for_mac<\/a>; Ubuntu: <a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.mixtile.com\/tools\/upgrade_tool_v2.22_for_linux.zip\">upgrade_tool_v2.22_for_linux<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.mixtile.com\/edge2\/homeassistant_image\/image-release-raw-format-mixtile-edge2-homeassistant12.2-rc2-240822.img.zip\">Home Assistant image<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.mixtile.com\/edge2\/homeassistant_image\/rk356x_spl_loader_v1.13.112.bin?_ga=2.38096291.1068717537.1724920075-1975792596.1724920075\">SPL loader file<\/a>: required only for the MaskRom mode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Note: This document takes macOS as an example to illustrate the installation process. If you use Windows or Ubuntu, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mixtile.com\/ja\/docs\/installing-an-operating-system-on-mixtile-edge2-kit\/\">https:\/\/www.mixtile.com\/docs\/installing-an-operating-system-on-mixtile-edge2-kit\/<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<p>Enter a boot mode as needed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loader mode: Press and hold the <strong>Recovery<\/strong> button, power on Mixtile Edge 2 Kit by connecting it to a PC via a USB-C cable, and then wait about 2 seconds before releasing the <strong>Recovery<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>MaskRom mode: Press and hold the <strong>MaskRom<\/strong> button, power on Mixtile Edge 2 Kit by connecting it to a PC via a USB-C cable, and then wait about 2 seconds before releasing the <strong>MaskRom<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u6ce8\uff1a<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the connection fails, try another cable or add a 12V power adapter.<\/li>\n<li>To find the <strong>Recovery<\/strong> \u305d\u3057\u3066 <strong>MaskRom<\/strong> buttons, remove the screws and then the body shell of Mixtile Edge 2 Kit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Unzip the <code>upgrade_tool_v2.13_for_mac<\/code> package. Then go to the directory where you have unzipped the package and run the command below to make <code>upgrade_tool<\/code> executable. Enter your admin password if prompted.<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"language-bash\">sudo chmod u+x upgrade_tool\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If you are alerted that the app developer cannot be verified:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u30aa\u30fc\u30d7\u30f3 <strong>System Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\u30af\u30ea\u30c3\u30af <strong>Privacy &amp; Security<\/strong>, scroll down, and click the <strong>Open Anyway<\/strong> button to confirm your intent to open or install the app.\n<img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dh19rycdk230a.cloudfront.net\/app\/uploads\/2024\/09\/macos-open-app-anyway.png?w=1020&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"macos-open-app-anyway\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>(Optional) Run the command below to flash the SPL loader to Mixtile Edge 2 Kit (required only for the MaskRom mode). Replace <code>[your_folder_path]<\/code> with the actual location of the SPL loader file.<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"language-bash\">.\/upgrade_tool db \/[your_folder_path]\/rk356x_spl_loader_v1.13.112.bin\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Run the command below to write the Home Assistant image to Mixtile Edge 2 Kit. Replace <code>[your_folder_path]<\/code> with the actual location of the image.<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"language-bash\">.\/upgrade_tool wl 0 \/[your_folder_path]\/image-release-raw-format-mixtile-edge2-homeassistant12.2-rc2-240822.img\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>It may take about 2 minutes for the installation to complete. Once it&#8217;s done, you have successfully installed Home Assistant to Mixtile Edge 2 Kit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Booting up Home Assistant<\/h2>\n<p>Once the installation is complete, reboot Mixtile Edge 2 Kit as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect Mixtile Edge 2 Kit to the Internet via an Ethernet cable.<\/li>\n<li>Connect Mixtile Edge 2 Kit to a monitor via an HDMI cable. If you are using only one Mixtile Edge 2 Kit, you may skip this step.<\/li>\n<li>Power on Mixtile Edge 2 Kit by connecting the USB-C cable to the device&#8217;s USB-C port and to a compatible power adapter. Then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If your Mixtile Edge 2 Kit is connected to a monitor, you can see the Home Assistant CLI similar to the one below on its startup:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dh19rycdk230a.cloudfront.net\/app\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Home-Assistant-CLI.png?w=1020&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Home-Assistant-CLI\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>You can now access Home Assistant as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have only one Mixtile Edge 2 Kit in your network, access <code>http:\/\/homeassistant.local:8123<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>If you have more than one Mixtile Edge 2 Kit in your network, get the IP address of Mixtile Edge 2 Kit from the monitor connected, and access Home Assistant at <code>http:\/\/[your_IP_address]:8123<\/code> (replace <code>[your_IP_address]<\/code> with the actual one).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It might take about 20 minutes for Home Assistant to be initialized at the first startup.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dh19rycdk230a.cloudfront.net\/app\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Prepare-Home-Assistant.png?w=1020&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"preparing_home_assistant\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\">\n<img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dh19rycdk230a.cloudfront.net\/app\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Finish-Preparing.png?w=1020&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"welcome_to_home_assistant\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations!
